This workshop is designed to introduce the fundamentals of stage combat. You will learn how to safely throw punches and kicks as well as staging chokes, grapples, throws and falls.

A full day designed for those studying GCSE and A Level drama, Act Up! brings together professional theatre practitioners to provide students with hands on experience in key skills like acting, storytelling and audience engagement.
The workshops will take place across both the Theatre's auditoriums as well as at our rehearsal space, Coval Studio, located just behind the Theatre.
Students will move in cohorts through the different spaces at the Theatre attending 3 distinct workshops and then end with everyone attending an insightful industry talk.

Unlock the secrets of devising and performing slick, bold, innovative pieces of theatre. This session is all about giving the students the skills to get on their feet fast, knowing how to refine their work and create intention.
In this session the students will learn this skills to bring a puppet to life, how to establish a character and engage your audience through imaginary storytelling.
The day ends with an opportunity to understand the world of the performing arts industry by talking to those in it. Hear from our panel about their work before the floor opens up to you to ask your burning questions about being a professional in the theatrical world.
