Dementia Accessible Cinema: Grease
Join us for a dementia-accessible film screening of the much-loved musical classic Grease – a relaxed and welcoming cinema experience designed with those living with dementia, their families, and carers in mind.
Experience the friendships, romances and adventures of a group of high school kids in the 1950s. Welcome to the singing and dancing world of Grease, the most successful movie musical of all time. A wholesome exchange student (Olivia Newton-John) and a leather-clad Danny (John Travolta) have a summer romance, but just how will their summer pan out?
Doors open at 12pm for tea, coffee and cake (available for a donation), with the film starting at 1pm. Enjoy classic favourites in a calm environment where the lights are slightly up, the volume is gentle, and you're free to move around or talk if needed. Each film will have an interval to provide a movement and comfort break. We will have additional staff and signage available to help you, and there is an accessible route into the studio.
Everyone is welcome – whether you're living with dementia, caring for someone who is, or simply want to enjoy a classic film in a friendly, understanding space.
