Chelmsford Theatre Studio was buzzing with excitement as more than 120 talented young performers auditioned for this year’s spectacular pantomime, Cinderella. Held on Sunday 24 May, the auditions welcomed three groups of local young people from school years 5 to 10, led by panto creative team member Caitlin Rutter.
Undeterred by the scorching bank holiday heat, auditionees threw themselves into the magic of panto with an improvisation warm-up that showed off their creativity, confidence and stage presence. They then learned and performed an energetic dance routine in front of Theatre Director Rhys Thomas and Producer Daryl Back.
A much-loved part of the pantomime cast each year, the Young Panto Company brings fresh energy, local talent and plenty of festive sparkle to the stage. The creative team looks for young people with a connection to Chelmsford and a passion for performance, with no professional training or previous experience required. Chelmsford Theatre extends a huge thank you to everyone who auditioned and hopes to welcome many back for future workshops and productions.
Chelmsford Theatre is delighted to announce this year’s Young Panto Company:
