Home Education: DJ Workshop

Mon 8 February 2027

discover

10am session - ages 7-11
12.30pm session - ages 12-17

Our home education programme aims to ensure that all children have access to high-quality creative experiences. We promise smaller group sizes, and challenging, engaging sessions lead by professionals in their industry.

This workshop is an introduction to the world of professional DJing. Shy Cookie- Producer of DJ Luck and MC Neat, and also co-founder/producer and official DJ of The House & Garage Orchestra will be delivering hands-on DJ workshops using Pioneer XDJ RX3s to teach the basics of beatmatching, transitions (mixing), effects and more.

Depending on ability, students may be given the opportunity to record their own group mixtape at the end of the session (with support from Alex/Shy Cookie).

This workshop is both a one-off opportunity, as well as an introduction that can lead on to one-to-one weekly lessons at either your school, or at one of the Essex Music Service after school tutoring sessions (please contact EMS for more details on either in school or after school lessons).
